West Hollywood, 1988

Rita, once the brightest dancer at MGM, has had a stroke. She’s desperate to share a secret but can’t speak. As Connie, the apartment manager, schlumps through her morning thievery, Bobby, Diane, and Veronique spar about their roles in Hollywood’s Golden Age. 

When Rita is murdered, the scene explodes into a spectacular movie musical. Rita is bound for the stars on the Celebrity Express, but Connie holds her back. Aided by her friends and a chorus of anonymous hoofers, Rita liquidates her nemesis and dances her way into the light.
