The door swings wide open revealing a glorious white staircase bathed in heavenly light. RITA is about to step on to the staircase, but stops. She’s not ready.
A shimmering ball of light slowly descends bearing VERONIQUE.
The staircase fills with brilliant light. Two by two, the CHORUS ascends, followed by VERONIQUE.
RITA hesitates, then mounts the staircase slowly, step by step by step by step by step. The light grows brighter and brighter until she disappears at the top where she is greeted by offstage voices calling her name.
