Naho Parrini performs Spanish Sketchbook
RICHARD PEARSON THOMAS is a composer, pianist, librettist and lyricist whose works have been performed by the Boston Pops, Covent Garden Festival, Houston Grand Opera, Encompass New Opera Theatre, Banff Centre, Skylight Opera Theatre, Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra, Riverside Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, and California State Fullerton Opera Theatre. His songs have been sung in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wigmore Hall, and before the U.S. Congress. He is on faculty at Columbia University Teachers College and has taught at Yale.
The compositions of Richard Pearson Thomas meld concert music with music theatre. In equal parts lyrical and rhythmic, they engage the listener by telling stories through song, with or without words.
“Mr. Thomas has listened acutely to the world around him. He can bounce with nervous metric energy or sing simply …” The New York Times
